Hotel Stary common spaces

Location: Kraków
Interior design / Execution: 2018
Area: 400m2

In the heart of Kraków, where history and modernity converge, the restoration of the public space at Hotel Stary stands as a testament to the timeless beauty of architectural rejuvenation. With a primary focus on enhancing functionality while preserving the hotel’s historic charm, the project has breathed new life into this cherished establishment.

Central to the restoration effort was the creation of a new hotel bar—an inviting sanctuary where guests can unwind and socialize in style. To achieve this, a rare and delicate stone known as sodalite blue granite was selected for the bar’s countertop. This exquisite material, with its mesmerizing deep blue hues and delicate veining, adds a touch of opulence to the space, elevating it to new heights of sophistication.

However, the choice of sodalite blue granite also presented a unique challenge. Its susceptibility to breakage required meticulous handling and expert craftsmanship to ensure its integrity and longevity. Careful attention was paid to every detail of its installation, from the sourcing of the stone to the precision cutting and polishing, resulting in a flawless finished product that exudes luxury and refinement.

Beyond the creation of the hotel bar, the restoration project also sought to optimize the functionality of the public space, ensuring that it serves the needs of guests seamlessly and efficiently. Thoughtful layout adjustments and strategic design elements were implemented to enhance traffic flow and usability, while preserving the historic character of the hotel’s architecture.
